4/4 = 1 (whole)
you need to divide 1 ( whole ) by 4 ( the denominator of your fraction ) which = 0.25
then multiply 0.25 by 3 ( from the 3 in the 3/4) which = 0.75
then add 0.75 to 2 = 2.75
therefore 2 3/4 = 2.75
just fyi in any fraction / actually means divided by.... :)
