What Were Ferdinand Magellan Accomplishments?

Ferdinand Magellan tried to finish what Columbus had set to do. He was the first person to travel around the world (to know that the world was round). In addition, Magellan found ways to travel around the continents, which was named "Strait of Magellan" in honor of his name. He found the Pacific Ocean, and named it Pacific because of its calm waters. He is a great person during the Renaissance.

He was the first person in the world to circumnavigate the world and he proved Columbus's theory true as well as finding the spice items which was very important because around this time spices were valuable as a matter of fact spices were much more valuable than gold :)
