Hi!
In geometry the concept of coordinate geometry is applied to manipulate equation for planes, straight lines etc. In real life the concept of coordinate geometry is widely used in constructing houses. This concept is widely used while working with graphic designing software. We often use it to navigate a city or to locate objects in a grid. When geocaching, we use latitude and longitude coordinates to locate our treasure. Astronomers (and amateurs) use sky coordinates to locate objects of interest. Users of maps may use the coordinates provided on the edge to find a place of interest.

Many of us have daily experience with coordinate geometry as we navigate numbered streets and avenues in our city. Some of us have additional experience in the buildings where we live and work--where floors are numbered and room numbers are laid out in some pattern. Shoppers looking for items "halfway down the left side of aisle C" also have experience with coordinate geometry.

These experiences are so common and so easily understood, it makes one wonder what the big deal is in school.

We say, for example, that a particular place is 2 blocks over and 3 blocks up. We might take note that our car is in the 4th stall of row K in the parking lot.

Now it really is useless, except if we want to find the country by the latitude and longitude.
