Focusing on the critical path is very important for project control but it should not be the only factor the project control is concerned about. Critical path focuses on what activities are to be done, their time schedules and their sequence which means that it is just concerned with getting the task done. This means that critical path focuses on effectiveness not the efficiency; it is limited to the time dimension. Efficiency is getting the task done in an optimal manner by taking into account the amount of input used to produce the product. Secondly, it does not consider the quality of the tack to be performed. This means that project control should also be aware of the efficiency of the product, its quality and costs as well.
