What is the difference between an artist and a performer?

Although one person can be both, an artist is the creator of the work, and the performer is the one who actually does the play, or dance, or song. But, since the performer also often is adding something of themselves to the performance, she, or he can also be considered an artist.

First of all in this field of entertaining it would be artiste ., not artist .  No there is no difference .
