Revision is a personal thing and each student struggles until he or she finds a method that they are comfortable with. Unfortunately, this can take a long time, and a lot of stress.

  • GCSEs
Regardless of what the ancients and politicians say every single year, GCSEs are not getting any easier: The way that they are taken is easier, there is no doubt about that because instead of having to revise and learn everything that has been taught for the last two years, the course is modular, which means that exams occur every few months and only encompass what has recently been taught.

This method also means that if a student does not get the grade that they wanted, they have the opportunity to resit the exam in a few months time.

  • Revision
Having said that, never has there been the pressure on students to excel that there is now, and so revision is a vital part of that excellence.

It is possible to find some excellent sites that make revision a lot easier, and this goes for the Edexcel exams that you mention as well. Have a look at the BBC Bitesize revision pages. These are fabulous revision sites that really target the areas that you are weak in.

  • Revision techniques
Unfortunately this is something that you are going to have to discover for yourself because revision is a personal thing and what works for one person has no impact upon somebody else.

Having said that, the majority of schools have very many revision classes for pupils to take advantage of. The beauty of these is that the teachers know exactly what is you need to know so will push you in the right direction.
