If you don't have a calculator with a √ key or logarithms (Log or Ln) or powers (xy), you can find a calculator on-line. If you don't want to use a calculator, you can work out √14 or even √(14/9) by hand. It is a non-repeating infinite decimal.

My calculator says (√14)/3 ≈ 1.247219

Using this value for x, I get 9x2 ≈ 13.9999971056
