My school has a new rule: hair cant be a 'extreme' color. My mate's hair has been bright red for 4 years, its now 'distracting'. People need to dye their hair so its 'normal' if not they will be sent home. Should my school be allowed to do this?

If the school wants to enforce their new rule, everyone must comply. Resistance is futile.

Well the definitely can, and you should respect that, but I believe that schools should realize that hair color is a form of expression, an outlet for many teens. I am all for hair color and think it's a great and fun thing to do. It's your school's decision, though.

Should they be "allowed" to do it ... Seems like a moot question, as they already HAVE done it.

Let's face it ... Regulating hair color is but the next logical step in school uniform dress codes.  Everybody has to look the same, to prevent distractions.

A hair color isn't a destruction and they haven't done it yet their making it official next week so once again should they be aloud to tell people what color to have their hair? Thanks anyway.

Of course they can enforce it. Just as employers can have dress codes/rules of behavior that they can enforce.

Considering the grammar and spelling errors in your question, I would say they have a point. You are more concerned about your friend's hair color than your communication skills.

Personally, I think schools should be more concerned about educating students, and less worried about the color of their hair or their hairstyle.

Of course, I'm biased having rocked various colors and unusual hairstyles as a teenager, but society needs creative people too, so why stifle the individuality and self-expression of our future generation?

Having said that, I have a feeling it's within their rights to enforce that rule.
