I am thinking about becoming a Child Care Worker, how much will I be making a year? Will it be enough for me to live off of?

There are too many variables to answer this correctly.

I've been in "child care" for about 8 years now. It depends on what you do. I worked part-time at a Montessori School for a decent amount, but I wouldn't say it was enough to live on my own. I worked in a pre-school for a little more than minimum wage . As a nanny, I've been able to make the most money, depending on how many children and whether I do extra things, such as cleaning, cooking and shopping. Being a nanny was my favorite because I got to know the kids very well and they became like family...the downside to that being, when you leave them, it might break your heart a little. I still "babysit" on the side, but it mostly suppliments my income.

Do you catch sickness often from doing your work? just curious

I used to because I ate sugar and garbage so much. I find that when I'm eating things to make my immune system strong - more than just oranges, but things that give life back to my body - I am less prone to sickness. Also, if I feel I'm coming down with something, what helps is to gargle with warm salt water and get to bed early. This has helped prevent many an illness lately!
