Ummmm...... I wouldn't hold on to the ONE hand holding you had in elementary school and I wouldn't dwell on NO hand holding in middle school..... I would focus ON school!
The only time I've seen hand holding in elementary school is in kindergarten. Because learning how to do things as a group, such as walking to the lunch tables, is difficult, holding hands is a necessary solution. Being that you can lose a couple of them, it's important for everyone to hold on to each other.
Because, this is when "Cooties" are most able to jump from one person to the next . . .
Because they aren't allowed to chain you together in elementary school when going from PointA to PointB ... And by middle school, you should be able to get from PointA to PointB by yourself without getting lost.
Maybe you were kids playing a game .. And now you're both more serious about who you're willing to hold hands with.
