I hated School to be honest... I dropped out when I was 15 and moved province ....then finished high school in night classes while I was working to pay rent... I ended up getting a partial scholarship to university though .....then I loved school :)sometimes things work out the way they are ment to :)

School was boring, very hot in the warmer months (no AC), way too much
drama, we had to wear long pants and button down shirts, shoes (no
sneakers allowed), every teacher had a paddle and I was introduced to
each one. I lived in a farm community and most kids smelled like cows, including me (I smelled like chickens). We all had to walk
to school and it was a mile and a half to grade school and a two mile
walk to high school for me and the kids in my hood, sun, rain or snow.

I have not had as much problem as you all are describing...the only instance was "b0rdello" and the sophisticated bot zapped me! But it lets through 'house of ill repute.'

I am going to remember your system, however Dozy.

Without question, the worst years of my life. I was a social misfit. The result? I crapped out badly and left at age 15. I've been playing catch-up ever since.

Dear Megan Goodgirl,

To me it is one of the miracles of existence that something as horrible as school was for me could consume so much of a person's formative years and life still turn out okay anyway in spite of it...it was awful, beginning immediately first grade which was 67 years ago now, through the whole twelve dregs.

Or maybe in a perverse bizarre way even because of it...as I have been re-educating myself ever since. (Illegitimi non carborundum...don't let the [email protected] wear you down.)

I had a good time mostly. I wasn't popular, but I had a core group of good friends. We are still friends, and I graduated 35 years ago.

I lived school. Granted, I'm a old person (63) and back then (you know, in the dark ages) the education in the United States was really very good.  Teachers got to actually teach and students were actually expected to learn.  And here's the weird part, students were expected to treat teachers with respect and bad behavior wasn't tolerated.  Of course there were always the occasional students who didn't meet these expectations but they were not allowed to be in the classroom with the rest of us.  This was SOOOOOOO long ago that the United States was always at, or near the top in education in the world.

Primary school wasn't too bad, I had a small, close group of friends and most people accepted me for who I was.

Secondary school on the other hand was the worst five years of my life so far! I was bullied and picked on pretty much from day one (mainly because I was quiet and a bit different from the others), I hated my classmates and most of the teachers, I didn't make any proper friends (the 'friends' I did have weren't very nice at all), PE lessons really stressed me out, and I just generally had a hard time there. I considered dropping out several times and became quite depressed, but I got through it eventually!

It was very nice and a lot of fun.  I mainly enjoyed school because of all my friends being there!  I wasn't a great student ... But I did enjoy being at school.

I hated high school. I had a handful of friends and wasn't popular. I wore glasses and was called 4 eyes a lot. I started dating in high school and my grades fell. Somehow I graduated though. I was glad when high school was over.

I did not like it one bit. I went to a private school where people were prudes, extremely racist and sexist towards the females. I didn't have very many friends because I didn't fit in with all the rich people that attended the high school. I'm glad its over now

It was alright, I guess. Mostly I was bored with it a lot of the time. I had a close group of friends (a few of which I'm still close with) and I was out as gay for the second half of high school and didn't encounter much trouble because of that. It could've been worse, but I was always looking forward to college. College so far has been amazing.

It was OK.  I was no scholar but I didn't let school get in the way of my educatiobn. Read a lot outside of school texts and learned more that way.

If that's true then I'm sorry. Unless you're lucky -- or talented in some marketable way -- you'll have plenty of time to reflect on that answer.
