I think the driving age should stay at 16. Yes, over 5000 teens die each year be cause of car wrecks but I don't think thats because of age. I believe its because of maturity. I also believe if we raise the driving age then all it would do is raise the age from teens dying to 18 year olds dying

I think 16 is a good age. At 16 most kids are mature enough to handle it, but they are still young enough to live at home and be taught be mom and dad.

At 16 most kids are not mature enough. Brains do not develop fully until about 25. The Frontal Lobe is the area of logic, reasoning, judgement, problem solving, and learning. Why do we always say that teens just don't get it. It is becasue of this, they are not really understanding the consequences of certain actions, much less how to reason, and solve situations which occur in driving. It has been proven that 18 is a much better age to obtain a license. Some states do have 18 as a driving age.

It all depends on the person. There are a LOT of 16 year old kids who are more mature than some 18 year old kids. There are a bunch of 18 year old kids who shouldn't be on the road at all. I bet that there are more 18 year old under age drinkers than 16 year old because when you are 18, you think "oh I'm old enough that it wont hurt my body to drink and I'm officially an adult so what the heck" and  I
probably wouldn't hurt to have one beer but the truth is they don't just have one beer they have 6 so again, it all depends on the person. :)

It should stay at 16 because it would save some money on gas if the parents didn't have to drop their high school kids off at some extracurricular activity, leave, and then have to pick them up again after it is time to leave. The kids could drive themselves and then leave by themselves, making two trips( 1 from home and 2 to home) instead of the four trips the parent would have to make ( 1 from home to drop them off, 2 to go home again, 3 to pick them up, and 4 to bring them home!!!!)

I for sure think the driving age should stay the same I mean I understand that teens get in crashes all the time but I feel those teens shouldnt have even gotten a drivers licences and maybe the should become a little more strict on passing the drivers test and only let the people who r really prepared and ready to drive pass and go on to drive

Yes because teenagers are showing responsibility and showing that they are becoming adults.

It has NOTHING AT ALL do to age.. It has to do with maturity!!.. Becasue when your 16 and you turn 18 your still going to have about the same knowlege as you did when you were 16 there for you don't just "learn". By how old you are you learn by experiance and you need to be mature . Pluse adult's/your  gardians can say "son/daughter I'm sorry but we don't think your ready your not mature enough and your grades are droping enormously". ... Or "son/daughter thats fine go head we will help you get the eduation you need to drive your grades are good and you are matture:]

Yes it should stay 16 years old for the driving age. I think kids are mature at that age.

Yes, others find it unfair that they are not allowed to drive and their will be no new drivers for

It should stay 16 because if it gets raised to 18, then thats just making it harder on the parents because they will have to go out more..
I hope it don't raise :)

Yes it should stay at that age because teenagers get older and more matured. And I think they learn in at high school or college.

Yes I think it should because if students in the country need to be at school early or late and their parents aren't home to take them, then they wont be able to do activities like sports or musical stuff. If the teacher says they need to be at school early to get work done and you can't show up, then you could end up getting a bad grade on something because morning was the only time they could retake something

It should be raised to 18 because most 16 year olds brains are far less under developed than 17 - 18 year olds

I am 16 and I am scared to get behind a wheel cause I think that  if I have a  bad turn on the road I could get killed straight away. It should be 18 cause the mind will be developed
