Pocahontas is one of the most famous personalities from history, who have been made immortal by local fairy tales.

Pocahontas was the daughter of the leader of Powhatan Confederacy, which was a native tribe of America. They lived in Virginia. She became popular because she married an Englishman. In fact, it was a wedding that was first of its kind, as she was an Indian American by origin and her husband John Rolfe was an Englishman.

Pocahontas was born in c 1595. She met John Rolfe when she was staying at Henricus. He expressed a desire to marry her because he had fallen in love with her. So Pocahontas married John Rolfe on April 5, 1614. After her marriage to John Rolfe, she became Rebecca Rolfe. Her marriage created peace between the colonists and her own tribes.
