Yes they do I have done my project and rust forms on things such as vinegar and coke, the vinegar rusted a lot but also started to form bacteria (big blob of hard black stuff)

They do, but they actually don't rust in the liquid well some times it's because of the oxygen
I don't really care at all really. Salt water rusts good though!
