The method by which you can bypass Iprism is fairly straight forward. However, you should note that while this method bypasses most of the websites blocked by Iprism, it doesn’t, nor can any method, unlock all of them.
First go to Google, from there select Advanced Search. Open a new internet explorer window or tab and find an English-Japanese translator. It is worth noting that Google provides translation services itself, although other recommendable sites are IM translator and Babelfish.
Translate the word game or games (as applicable) from English to Japanese. Once you have done this copy (‘ctrl’ and ‘c’) and paste (‘ctrl’ and ‘v’) it into the Google advances search or window. Then place the name of the game in English. Having done this copy or paste the following words into the ‘Any of these unwanted words’ box: ‘games’ ‘game’ ‘facebook’ ‘myspace’ as well as any other words that you believe your iprism may block.
Once this is completed, set the language options to show only Japanese pages. Provided that you have not chosen to add additional words to the ‘Any of these unwanted words’ unwisely, you should find that you now have access to thousands of websites not blocked by Iprism. If you are not a regular Google user and prefer search engines such as Yahoo or Lycos then you may find that these same instructions can be modified to use on the advanced settings of your preferred search engine.
Remember that sites such as Babelfish can be used to translate foreign language pages to English, although this can reactivate the block in some circumstances. It is worth noting that as Iprism ultimately blocks certain content, many sites are just inaccessible whatever you do. Just remember, if you get caught you didn’t hear it from us!
