There are various ways through which telephones have changed our lives. Firstly, it has made the communication much quicker and cheaper. Within a couple of seconds we can talk with any of our friends anywhere in the world. So, it has increased our networking. Secondly, distances among the people have reduced and people feel very easy when they decide to migrate to any place because they know that they can contact any person, any time through telephones. Internet has also gotten more common because of telephones, as DSL and Dial upuses telephone lines. Business transactions are more expanding because telephone has made them faster. Video conferencing also requires telephones. A number of services are also provided on telephones like Tele-banking, Air traveling services, and booking services. I cannot think to spend a single day without telephone!!!

When Alexander Graham Bell's main goal in developing the telephone was to allow everyone, including the poor to have communication ability through the use of the telephone. The telephone was the first communication to allow us to maintain relationships over long distances. Because of this technology our society and the world changed. It is easy to take technology, inventions, and advances in any field for granted. We accept that we have computers, appliances, and the telephones. We do not consider the impact that these technologies have on our lives. They do have an impact whether good or bad. They affect our lives in ways that we may not even know. One of the most influential, and controversial, inventions has been that of the telephone. When the telephone was introduced it was met with some resistance and a few technical problems. As time passed it became so accepted that almost everyone in the western world had a telephone.

It made it possible to be connected to people far away from you, it also helped families stay connected. It gave people, mostly women, jobs as telephone operators. It also had a consequence on the world. Instead of going to talk and see your friends, you can just call, or text. When you pick someone up, you don't even bother to get out and knock, you just call or text them to tell them that you're hear.  Alexander Graham Bell made the telephone so that you could talk to people instantly that were far away, instead of waiting for days to receive a letter. He didn't make it so that we could become lazy and make it the center of our universe!

Way back before we had telephones we would communicate by sending letters through the mail. The main reason the telephone has changed our lives is because now we can talk with any of our friends and family for a cheap cost. Within a couple of seconds we can talk to anyone you want anywhere in the world. Just pick up the phone, dial and talk. It's that easy

Telephones have given us the convenience of talking to others. Whether it be a loved one, neighbor, or a coworker in another country- we can stay in touch. Telephones created jobs, some forms of long-distance relationships, and the ability to call for help if needed.

On the down side, it has made us accessible to creditors, telemarketers, and for some of us, harassment from people we do not like! LOL
