The absolute largest number possible that can be made up of six digits is the number 999,999. This is can also be described as the number "one short of a million". Verbally (or long-hand), this number is written as nine hundred and ninety nine thousand, nine hundred and ninety nine.

Alternatively, the smallest six-digit numeral that exists is the number 100,000 (one hundred thousand), as any lower, and it becomes a five-digit number. Other interesting numbers:
