Genitals refer to the reproductive organs, mainly the external sex organs of a human body. It is derived from the Latin term Genitalia, that consists of the sex organs of a human. They are those parts of the human anatomy that are important in the sexual reproduction process. They consist of the reproductive organs namely: in a male they consist of the penis, testicles, scrotum, prepuce, prostate etc. In a female they constitute of the vulva, vagina, cervix, uterus etc.

The genitalia actually describe the sex organs, but in the English language this term is confined to mostly the exterior visible organs. The intrinsic sex organs are called as the secondary genitalia or internal genitalia.

Sexual organs originate from a common anlage and are distinguished into male or female sex organs.
