How do you write 4.01 as a fraction?

You can eliminate the decimal point by multiplying by 100. You can keep the same value you started with by dividing that result by 100.   4.01 = (4.01*100)/100 = 401/100

Any decimal is easily converted to a fraction this way. Remove the decimal point and express the resulting value over 1 followed by the number of zeros formerly to the right of the decimal point.
