To find the slope of an equation, rearrange it into y= mx + b.

2x + 5y = 10 (your statement)

2x - 2x + 5y = 10 - 2x (subtract -2x from both sides)

5y = 10 - 2x (simplify)

5y/5 = (10 - 2x)/5 (divide by 5 on both sides)

y = 2 - 2/5x

(M) i.e your slope = - 2/5x
Y intercept = 2
