(x − 7)^2 − 4 = (x + 1)^2

FOIL both sides, that in parenthesis and squared.

For instance.

(X - 7)(X - 7)

= X^2 - 14X + 49

------So....,

X^2 - 14X + 49 - 4 = X^2 + 2X + 1

Gather all to right side.

- 16X + 44 = 0

- 16X = - 44

X = 44/16

======Reduced to.

11/4
