Which sentence is grammatically correct? The faster he drives, the more anxious I became. Or. The faster he drove, the more anxious I became. Thank you!

The second one because drives is present tense, drove is past tense.

The second one. If you want to make the first one right, you would say

The faster he drives, the more anxious I become.

Although I still like the second one better.
