I kinda like "retro" or "vintage" looks like 50s-style rockabilly stuff, pencil skirts etc... I used to work in retail and wore that type of clothing.
So I'm working at TJ Maxx now, there dress code is very casual though, but I still want to "dress up" a little. What are some outfit ideas I could try that respects the dress code, but looks for "fashion forward?"
Dress boots, skinny jeans, and a button up.
I worked in retail for over 15 years, and I can tell you wear something you are comfortable in and can easily wash. When merchandise comes in and you have to empty boxes, they can be covered in all kinds of dust and dirt. So keep that in mind when dressing for work. Other than that just go with what you like as long as it isn't too revealing.
