Bougie and Snobby attitudes. Rude and uppity. Partying, drinking and bribing others to do their college work. 100% extremely slim. Sleeping to noon and planning who to prank, who to marry, where to shop and how to spend their parents millions. "College Mean Girls"

The current answers show clear bias and irrationality. Not all sororities depict such attitudes. I've been in a few.

For some, it's merely about partying, an elitist attitude, and conformity. For others (the ones that I were in), it's more about volunteering, making friendships and lasting bonds, having fun (which included partying), but no snobbish attitudes were there.

Some are good and some aren't. You just have to find out which ones are as such.

At my college, there are the Greek and non-Greek sororities and fraternities. You can only be in one Greek but you can be in as many non-Greek sororities as you wish.

For the Greek, if you wish to not participate, you simply don't pay the dues. Same with the non-Greek. Some ask that you let the head of the sorority know that you don't wish to be a part of it either.

You're NOT allowed to be a part of a Sorority if you don't pay the dues. I clearly stated that (first sentence, second paragraph...lol). University of Oklahoma.

I fail to see how that would have been able to be more clear...since I stated that "...if you don't wish to participate....don't pay the dues..."

The only thing I would change would be "either" to "also". But okay. :)
