Have you learned something trivial lately that you find cool or even a bit helpful?

It's easier to open a banana from the bottom. If you separate the bananas completely or put saran wrap on the top where the bunch meets it will not ripen as fast.

If you want to ripen avocados put them in a bag with a banana.

Take a muffin tin, put an egg in each place. Bake at 325 for 30 minutes. Drop in an ice bath. Hard boiled eggs without boiling. They peel well too.

Writing on the skin of a banana with a ball-point pen is strangely satisfying, honest, try it!

Two thing recently.  Let me preface by saying I love to cook. First (trivial yet nice) thing:  When boiling water....say cooking pasta, laying a wooden spoon across the top of the pot and the water WILL NOT boil over.  Second:  I love to use green onions.  Cut up the green (and if you like) a bit of the white part.  Take the rest of the white part with roots in a clear glass container with a little water. Sit it in a well lite spot. The green onions grow back and I can always have fresh green onions.

I read online yesterday the mean of AM and PM in relation to time. AM...Ante Meridiem. (Latin for before mid day) PM..Post Meridiem. (After mid day) Always used the terms but never knew the real definition.
