Does this saying make any sense? If you don't want to feel pain don't walk on broken glass?

Dear Megan Goodgirl,

Yes, your saying makes all kinds of sense...and it also implies that you can recognize when a person's life is "broken glass," where you will get hurt if you walk there.

* * *

And I will tell you, sometimes I see the broken glass but just take a deep breath and walk with the person for a while anyway...life hurts, and sometimes we can help each other find the joy.

It makes a lot of sense to me. I can take it in different meanings.

-If you don't want to get hurt, don't trap yourself in the situation.

-Success sometimes requires pain and sacrifices, to get there, to cross through,if you don't have the guts to be where you want to be, don't start it from the first place.

-The broken glasses can be the trails or foot prints. Someone's path that gives you the clearance of where there's a hole to fall of! Where the traps and failures lies. If you don't want to get hurt, make sure to take lessons from other's experience to not end up with the same result.

-Generally, don't do it! Just back off and watch your opportunities fades away! Because you can't take the pain! Pain is part of life! Sometimes you must hurt to even open your eyes.

I guess so. It basically says if you don't want to get hurt, don't put yourself in a situation that it is most likely to happen.
