Ironbottom Sound is named because of the high numbers of ship and plane wreckages that can be found there, which sank during the Battle of Guadalcanal in 1942-1943

This book is dedicated to the thousands of American Sailors still on duty in the depths of Ironbottom Sound off Guadalcanal in the South Pacific.
