Sounds like a good plan. In the meantime, interview other students in your class and see what they enjoy about the course. You may discover something that you can concentrate on that may allow you to enjoy the classes more.
I started Criminology at uni in Sept. and I'm not enjoying it yet. I know initial modules provide context but it's difficult to be motivated. I want to wait until after 1st year to decide as it may improve, any advice on what to do?
