There are three types of modifiers Prepositional phrase modifiers, Adjective modifier and adverb clause modifier. To change or add to the meaning of something is known as Modification. Nouns, phrases, adjectives and clauses all act as modifiers. They describe other words or give more information in a sentence. Modifiers must be places close (as close as possible) to the words or the words they modify. If this is not done, the sentence may be confusing.  There are three types of modification errors. There is squinting modifiers, dangling modifiers and misplaced modifiers. Example of a squinting modifier is: WRONG- He said tonight he'd call me.  CORRECT- Tonight, he said he'd call me or He said he'd call me tonight.
