He was a prominent figure in Roman history being a political as well as a military leader because his role was crucial in building the Roman Empire. He was assassinated on March 15 in the year 44 BC. He was invited to read a petition at a forum by the senators. When Mark Anthony found out, he discerned that there was a plot and went to stop Caesar but the senators prevented this. When he started to read out the petition, he was attacked by a senator called Casca with a dagger and joined by other senators. This attack was fatal and Caesar fell.
