Because the french went over to the americans to help with the war - and when they came back, they heard the americans talk about being free and that everyone has a right. They french were divided into groups - at the bottom were the poor people who had to pay taxes for themselves & 2 lords, the nobles in second (thier the people who fight for the king, King Lois 16th) The churchmen & then the king at the top! The idea of being free really motivated the poor people so they started to revolt!

It also influenced it because funding the American colonist was another way the french king was spending money he didn't have and had to raise taxes on the poor to pay for it. Causing more anger among the people. France was already in a financial disaster after the 7years war with England right before France helped the American colonist. So no only did the idea of freedom help but the fact that France financially couldn't afford to help the colonist but did anyway making their financial problems even worse. Making the revolution happen that much faster.
