Actually,law of floatation has got several meanings, i.e.whether floatation is in air or water.  In water it is just the archimedes principle viz."IF THE VOLUME DISPLACED BY A BODY IN WATER IS EQUAL TO THE VOLUME INSIDE THE WATER THEN THAT BODY IS SUPPOSED TO FLOAT IN WATER"
