To find μ there many ways, but here I will show you the basic.
Let us say we have this set of numbers.
1,2,3,4,5,5,6,6,7,7,8,9 and 9
what is μ?
Here: 1+2+3+4+5+5+6+6+7+7+8+9+9 =72
13 ----> Total of Numbers
72/13=5.53=μ
Of course there are more complex methods, but this is the basis.
