Anytime you have a fraction, you can multiply or divide the top (numerator) and bottom (denominator) by the same number without changing the value of the fraction. So with 2/8, you can divide the top (2) and bottom (8) by 2 to get 1/4. So yes, 2/8 = 1/4.

No, because if you multiply 2 by 2 it does not equal 14 it equals 4, because if you multiply the numerator you have to do the same for the denominator, the correct answer would be 4/16 because if you multiply 8 by 2 it would give you 16.

Yes 2/8 is equal to 1/4 because if you were to simplify 2/8 you would divide by 2 because 2 and 8 are both numbers that can be divided by 2. Dividing 2 by 2 is 1 and 8 divided by 2 is 4 therefor equaling 1/4

Yes because by multiplying 1/4 by 2 you get 2/8 because whatever you multiply your numerator for or denominator you have to do the denominator or numerator. For example 2/5, the answer could not be 4/5 by multiplying by 2 it would be 4/10 because if you multiply 2 by 2 it equals 4 so you have to multiply the denominator by 2 which therefor equals 4/10
