One quart equals four US cups, or 32 fl.oz. That is 960 ml for those who prefer metric measures. Therefore 2 quarts of ice cream is eight cups.

  • Liquid Measure Conversions
Just about every recipe uses different measures in its list of ingredients. Some use cups, others use pints and quarts, others still use fluid ounces or milliliters.

At times, this can get utterly confusing. Remembering all the different measures all the time is almost impossible. So here are some of the most used measures and their equivalents, with the fl.oz being imperial (imp.) measures:

Two tbsp equal 30ml or 1 fl.oz, or one eighth of a cup
100cc equals 105ml or 3.5fl.oz
60 ml equals 2 fl.oz or a quarter of a cup
120ml equals 4 fl.oz, 1/2 cup or 1/4 US pints (pt)
150ml equals 5 fl.oz or 1/4 imp.pt
180ml equals 6 fl.oz, 3/4 cup
240 ml equals 8 fl.oz, 1 cup or 1/2 US pt
300ml equals 10fl.oz or 1/2 imp. Pt or 1 1/4 cups
360ml equals 12 fl.oz or 1 1/2 cups or 3/4 US pt
420ml equals 14 fl.oz or 1 3/4 cups
450ml equals 15 fl.oz or 3/4 imp.pt
480ml equals 16 fl.oz or 2 cups or 1 US pt
600ml equals 20 fl.oz or 1 imp. Pt or 2 1/2 cups
960ml equals 32fl.oz or 4 cups or 1 quart
1.1 L equals 40 fl.oz or 2 imp. Pts or 5 cups or 2 1/2 US pts

We hope this makes life a little easier all round.

2 quarts (2 pints/1 quart)(2 cups/1 pint)

= 8 cups

======I see some of these answers are wrong. Always use dimensional analysis/conversion strings to cancel units and get just numbers to go with the right units and the answer.

A Quart is equal to 5 cups so 2 quarts is equal to 10 cups. Thus, if your mother bought 2 Quarts of ice-cream that would make about 10 cups of ice-cream.
