The lines are yellow, meaning extra caution should be taken in that area.  Passing permitted on broken line side, no passing on solid line side.

When the broken yellow line is in your lane, you may pass the car in front of you. When the solid yellow line is in your lane you cannot pass.

Solid yellow lines are meant to be understood as DO NOT PASS because there is no clear view ahead to

above line means that the driver traveling left to right on this side only with the broken line on their driver side can pass
The driver traveling on the opposite side coming towards you can NOT pass

broken lines (PASS)  solid lines (DO NOT PASS)
