Some were kidnapped by European slave traders. Some were kidnapped by the king or chief of a neighboring tribe, then sold to the slave traders. Some were enslaved by their own chief and sold to the traders.
They were even captured in their home towns,
Capturers came and acted like guests but in the end they captured them and took them to trade for precious items such as gunpowder, guns, green glass bottles etc...
Most people became enslaved in African societies either through being captured during tribal warfare or , more often than people realize today, by being sold by their tribal chiefs to Arab or European slave traders for monetary profit.

They were kidnapped or born into it meaning that his or her mother and father is a slave so automatically he or she is a slave

Africans became slaves as a result of being captured, transported to a market location, and then being sold. Those doing the capturing included: Other Africans who having won a battle would sell the captives; other Africans who would capture someone and sell that person into slavery (sell or be sold became a way of life!); people of other nationalities who would seek out small groups, capture them, then sell them into slavery (however, Europeans rarely ventured into non-coastal regions due to fear of disease and fierce resistance); and Africans born to slaves were the property of the slave owner.

Another triad was the way out of Africa and into slavery. Going across the Sahara usually meant being sold into a Muslim country (9th-19th Century). Being captured around the Niger River meant being sold into European slavery, and, of course, an Atlantic crossing meant being sold in the Americas. First in Central American (around the Her nan Cortez explored), then in South America and the Islands, and finally in North American.

Jesus Christ! Can't you guys do your own work? Go to the library, actually READ a long and 'boring' article about the topic. The whole idea of course work is to be prepared for the exam and to get some deep knowledge of at least one of the topics you will be quizzed on. This sickens me. Coming from a fellow ninth but apparently more intelligent ninth grader.
