Definitely, I was at school (all boys) a few years ago and we did shirts vs skins right through to 16, when PE was no longer compulsory. The teacher picked teams so we had no choice about whether we went shirtless or not. White shorts, socks and trainers was the rest of our PE kit.

"yes, it seems to be quite common for boys to have to do PE shirtless and barefoot. I did PE myself this way when I was in secondary school"

When was it? Which school is that?Do they have a website with uniform list?

In some girls' schools the same policy is employed for field PE and for swimming classes.

Yes, it seems to be quite common for boys to have to do PE shirtless and barefoot. I did PE myself this way when I was in secondary school. There is a video on youtube that shows such a lesson: www.youtube.com
