The classical method is a method of assigning probabilities and the most simple and convenient one. This method can be used only when certain assumptions are true.
Assumptions:
The probabilities of all outcomes should be known and All the outcomes are equally likely, that is all of them have an equal chance of occurring so that each outcome has 1/n probability. When a die is rolled, the probability is assigned using the classical method.
Limitations: This method cannot always be used because while handling with real life problems, none of the assumptions of this method can be satisfied.
