It's a huge distraction in my opinion. I'm speaking from personal experience. I married my highschool sweetheart and I can attest to love's power to distract one from school. It's very hard to concentrate on school when you have this warm feeling in your chest. I thought more about when I was going to be able to see her again than I did on what polynomials were and now I'm suffering in college from it. Love is great, but it plays a negative role in achieving success in school. I would rather be uneducated than be without my wife.
