101 is 10.  Simple enough, but let's think this through.

We'll go one step at a time;  102 = 10 x 10 = 100

and 103 = 10 x 10 x 10 = 1,000

so 104 = 10 x 10 x 10 x 10 = 10,000

10 to the 4th power is just another way of saying 10 times itself 4 times.  10x10x10x10=?  Hope this helps......sorry I won't give you the answer.  Janes

My answer is saying exactly what the 2nd answer below said, but without the answer. It's like the old adage says..."you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink." I gave you everything you needed EXCEPT the answer. But, like most of you who ask homework questions on here.....you're to lazy to figure it out for yourselves...so you just ask for the answer....not how to find the answer.....always looking for the easy way out. That's why there is no learning.....you're always GIVEN the answer without any of your own effort. That's why I won't give answers.....but I'll give you clues.

Don't you have a calculator or something?... I'm not trying to be mean but this is so easy. Just multiply ten 4 times.. Or just simply count the zeros and put a 1 in the beginning.

10 x 10 x 10 x 10 x 10 = 10,000

10 x 10 = 100 x 10 = 1,000 x 10 = 10,000
