The height of the tire in question is 7.8 inches.

You may have to calculate the measurements of a tire from your vehicles if you are ever to replace a tire. The most important thing you need to consider is the rim size which is very easy to identify because it is the last digit displayed in the tire number. The tire number you stated which is 265/75/16 has a rim size of 16 inches. This is very important when you have to find a replacement tire because anything other than 16 inches will not fit in place. You will also have to consider the width and to do this you need to find the first number in the tire sequence which in this case is 265 millimeters. This measurement is equal to around 10.4 inches. Now you have the width and the rim size, you need to find the height, also known as the sidewall. In order to get the right measurement you need to look back at your tire number and locate the second number after the first slash which in this case is 75. The sidewall ratio is measured in percentages so the sidewall is 75 percent of the width, which indicates the height from the rim to the tread. In order to do this you need to first find 75 percent of 265 millimeters, which is approximately 19.9 centimeters. Once you have that figure, you need to convert those centimeters into inches. The result is approximately 7.8 inches.

265/24.5=10.82, then

10.82x.75=8.12, then

8.12*2=16.23, then

16+16.23=32.23 thats how tall the tire will be...

You need to post the second number for me to tell you the answer. The 265 is a centimeter measurement of the width and the second number is the height calculated as a percentage of the width. Example if it is a 265/45/16 the height is 45% of 265 centimeters. 265 x .45 = 119.25 centimeters.

Your answer is almost correct, but not quite.  I believe the question is looking for the total height of the tire not the height of the sidewall, plus you are measuring in centimeters.  if you measure in cm, that would mean a 235/75/r15 tire had 69 inch sidewalls.  it should be measured in millimeters.  for example, 75% of 235mm is 176.25mm. 176.25 mm converted to inches is about 6.9 inches.  multiply by two, since obviously you have sidewall on both sides of your rim (lol) = 13.8 inches.  add rim diameter (15") = 28.8" total tire height.  235mm = 9.25".  so a 235/75/r15 tire is 9.25 inches wide and 28.8 inches tall.  now get the full measurement on your 265 tires and do the same math and you're good to go.

The height from the bead to the tread would be almost 10 inches.for the height of the full tire I would need the rim size.
