The IMSU's post UME for 2011 has unfortunately already been and 2012's date is yet to be announced. The cutoff mark for 2011 entry was 180 points and it is thought that this will most probably be the same cut off mark for 2012.

  • UME cut off marks
The JAMB UME cut off mark for all Nigerian polytechnics is 180 points, whereas the cut off mark for all Nigerian universities is 200 points.

  • How to make sure you go to the university of your choice
As demand is high for all the top universities and courses, it can be hard to secure that dream place. Firstly to give yourself the best possible chance of being accepted to your first choice course and university you need to exceed the points total required.

Unfortunately there is no real shortcut to achieving this; it takes a lot of hard work and plenty of preparation. You should make sure you have planned enough time to fully revise. Don't cram everything last minute, as you will find it much harder for all the information to fully sink in, and the stress of leaving it so late can also severely affect your memory.

Also if you don't quite get the mark you were looking for it is not the end of the world. There are plenty of other universities and courses that could suit your needs or there is also the option of resitting the exams in the hope of improving your grade.
