The (75 man)(20 day) = 1500 man*day task will take
  (1500 man*day)/(50 man) = 30 day
to complete. This is 10 days more than originally scheduled.

Well, you have 75 men taking 20 days, and now you're down to 25 men on another project. If you divide 75/3, you will get the amount of men on the other project: 25. Now, multiply your answer (20 days) by 3, and you will get 60 days of work. To find the difference, subtract (60 days - 20 days) and you will find that with only 25 men, it will take 40 days longer.
