A polygon is basically any closed plane figure that is made up by joining several line segments. The sides do not cross each other and at each vertex, just two sides meet each other. The names for the polygons that have up to 10 sides are standardized and generally accepted. After ten, the polygons that have even number of lines have standardized names but the ones with odd number of lines do not. The names proposed for an eleven sided polygon is Undecagon or Hendecagon. However the name ‘Hendecagon’ is considered to be more precise and commonly used because it uses the Greek prefix and suffix instead of a combination of a Roman prefix and Greek suffix.
