I love history! My favorite aspect of it is the political intrigue, I guess....especially around WWII when countries were making secret alliances, so if a country declared war against another, a third country would declare war against the first.
I also enjoy Russian history as well.
The American Revolution and the American Civil War were also interesting. I think the thing I hated the most about American history was the fact that they always seemed to rehash the same information over and over again, and as you say, making it such a bore. I also thought they could have related what was going on in the US to what was going on in the world more, as wars here weren't necessarily fought only here. US history is generally taught in and of itself when it was actually interrelated to what was happening in Europe. And Canada is generally forgotten when dealing with American history. And what of the history of the Mayans, the Incans, and the Aztec? It's history that's close to the US but not dealt with.
