The 18 months I spent in Nam was the longest war in American History. I was there for an eternity.

I agree the war on Drugs...but we have a far greater battle going on in this country today and that is the battle to maintain our own values that have gotten us to be such a great nation, I can go on and on but the culprit in my opinion is Liberalism...the biggest battle that should be the concern of Americans today.

I must agree with that. They are so far gone, not even they know what the hell they mean anymore. It''s like a dog chasing it's tail round and round. The 3 of them (Obama, Biden & Pelosi) just remind me of Kukla Fran & Olly, but not quite as charming...or intelligent.

I would tend to agree as well. Liberalism is killing this once great country.

Yes...its true about Liberalism...and I will tell you I am the first to respect one's view and opinion but the liberal agenda in this day and age is not as kind toward anyone who has a different one than their own... Its their way or the hwy. And those who label themselves as "Progressives" simply are liberal sidekicks!

The only problem is that communism came about in a political form after WWII. So that is in the 40's. With the end of the Imperialism of the East, Japan and the Nazi's of Europe a new found freedom or lack of leadership which was the opening and gave rise to this "people's" governments lead first by the Blood-thirsty Stalin and Mao of the Big Red-China! All that red was for all their peoples blood they shed in turning these countries to communism.

The war on Drugs and alcohol! Prohibition started the war with the self-righteous attitude that grown people could not take care of themselves. It could have conceptually been instigated by the sudden epiphany that with the Department of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms that the regulation of such material would be a great source of hidden revenue for the government! This taken in consideration that this department is regulated by the Treasury Department! Of course at this time Beer was considered part of a healthy diet and most Americans were drinking it at breakfast and started whiskey at lunch! This was also the beginning of the coffee push or the stimulant craze and in a round-about-sense perhaps the current problem with Meth-amphetamines. Of course they never associated the Depression with any of these problems!

If we are speaking of an actual army against army conflict then Viet Nam came in a close second! Again another Governmental Brain Storm session on man, we can really accomplish something here!

Written or unwritten. I would say civil war (whether here or anyplace on the earth). Civil war is waged daily not with arms(physical) but with words the sword that cuts deeper than any physical weapon...

Yes...think that's a great point as well as Racism...although many say the issue of racism has reached a turning point because we now have a black president...I see it just the opposite...I see Obama in a lose..lose situation...if he does well ...and I believe he will fail because his policies lean far too left....but if he fails...the black side of Mr. O will only heat those that are already racially seeded...if he clamps down on the welfare handouts...he will be an Uncle Tom to the minorities!
