4=5/(x-2)
multiply both side by the (X - 2)
4(x-2)=5
4x-8=5
4x=8+5
4x=13
x=13/4

Now you got the value of x, use it in the equation

4=5(x-2)4=5(13/4-2)
4 = 5/(13/4 - 8/4)4
4=5/(5/4)5 * 4/5

4=4

(x - 2) = 5/4    (multiply by (x-2)/4)
x = 3 1/4    (add 2)

4 = 5/(X - 2)

multiply through by the (X - 2)

4(X - 2) = 5

distribute

4X - 8 = 5

add 8 to each side

4X = 13

X = 13/4 ======check in original equation

4 = 5/(13/4 - 2)

2 = 8/4 ------

4 = 5/(13/4 - 8/4)

4 = 5/(5/4)

5 * 4/5 = 4

so,

4 = 4
