MBA + CFA (Certified Financial Analyst) mix is a very potent qualification for the Pakistani Job market since it just does not rely on equipping a candidate with fundamentals of Management and administration but also specifically orients them towards other functions of financial management by adding to their qualification base and making them more adept with financial tools. They don't just go for auxiliary jobs then but end up in significant positions which employ their abilities to their maximum potential resulting in positions that offer job satisfaction and positions where they can make a difference. Usually banks like the state bank and other monetary and financial government organizations hire them at very lucrative remuneration packages and need individuals with specific skills besides a degree as generic as MBA.
You guys need to understand what exactly an MBA is and what a CFA is. An MBA is more like a set of business skills rather than simply academic or professional studies related to specific business functions. That's why an MBA is more likely to be abe to administer a variety of businsses. In contrast to that a CFA , B.E. MBBS or CAs are the people skilled not only in business as a whole but also in a signle aspect of any business or an organization. Combining a professional degree with a good general or specialized MBA means what? I hope you guys can understand that it provides a person a holositic understanding of the whole business/organization wile being expert in one functional area. One can have better prospects with this combination every where in the world and in any market and shall have compettive adavantage over somebody who has either a professional degree or an MBA alone. I hope this helps.
MBA though included in professional qualification but it is an established fact that by doing it a person becomes jack of all trades but master of none. Combining MBA with CFA, it does not only minimize the exposure of being jack of all and master of none but also equipped one with the specialized knowledge of finance. As far as Scope of MBA+CFA in pakistan is concerned, I am of pessimistic opinion as most of the jobs in pakistan for a beginner level having MBA+CFA with no experience makes that person under employed.
Yes, If you are doing an MBA majors in Finance then CFA would be a cutting edge for you to compete in the job market, Beyond that its your luck and hardwork with ability to prove your self.
