Whilst computer science is taught in both middle school and high school in the US, it is not as popular or prevalent as you might think, given the necessity for computer literacy in the modern age, and the increase in so many self-starting companies- like Facebook and Google- that began as a small project in a college students bedroom and grew into multi-billion dollar companies. You'd really think there would be more focus on computer science through all levels of school.
Well, that's what Code thought too. Code are a non-profit organisation who are dedicated to the promotion of computer science teaching in schools, and believe it should be part of the long standing mandatory curriculum subjects like Maths, English and Science. They are a crowd funded organisation, with donations by world leaders in computing- Google, Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg- as well as by the general public, and hope to continue to gain momentum to push for better and more widespread learning in all US schools.
